Elevation

All morphometric variables are derived from digital elevation models (DEMs).

Example*. A DEM of Mount Ararat was extracted from the SRTM1 DEM. Elevation approximation was carried out by the universal spectral analytical method using 300 expansion coefficients of the original function of elevation by the Chebyshev polynomials. The model includes 779,401 points (the matrix 1081 x 721); the grid spacing is 1". The vertical exaggeration of the 3D model is 2x. The data processing and modeling were carried out using the software Matlab R2008b.
